Q: "A sober person who can tolerate the urge to speak, the mind's demands, the actions of anger and the urges of the tongue, belly and genitals is qualified to make disciples all over the world."
Can you please guide me in providing
a. Steps involved in controlling the above six
b. How to gauge the progress
A: All glories to all Vaisnavas!
Thank you for your query.
First suggestion from me to you is not to read many books at atime. Now, you are going through Bhagavad-Gita. Concentrate on that first. This gives knowledge.
Upadesamrta-Nectar of Instruction----------- is training the devotees. Engaging the devotees to realize the knowledge.
The senses in the gross body are for to enjoy according to our desires provided by the providence. This is purely material actions, not pleasing Krsna but pleasing oneself.
After understanding that we are not our bodies we are purely souls, parts and parcels of Krsna. Here we try to control our senses to please not ourselves but Krsna.
In other words the duty of souls in this material world is to control the senses only. By rendering devotional service to Krsna one can control his senses.
This is the thing in fact done by a Guru ------ engaging his disciples to render service to Krsna to control his own senses.
That is why a guru should control all his senses first then he can train his disciple to control his senses.
If the guru unable to control his senses, he can't control his disciples. A dhira can control his senses so that he is not at all disturbed by any external force.
He can accept anything sanctioned by Krsna.
He will be happy with what he possesses. This is controlled person. No lamenting or no hankering for anything.
Thank you very much.
Hari Bol.
